Lake Michigan and Grand Traverse Bay

As you may notice at Central Coast Angling we take a different approach to being successful on the water. As we are fortunate enough to follow the fish in a smaller vessel and maximize our clients opportunities at any given time. Being able to go where the fish are most active is what keeps our clients successful daily. Our favorite places to fish can be found in key areas all across the western side of northern lower Michigan depending on the current fishing season. Locations such as Grand Traverse Bay in March and April chasing jumbo perch and lake trout. Yet we are fortunate enough to chase the king of the lake in early May in Whitehall as these fish migrate up the coast of Lake Michigan where we will stop at the Manitou Islands for the summer season. Often the towns we frequent during the summer months are jolly tourist driven towns such as Glen Arbor, Leland, Northport, Suttons Bay and Old Mission. Such towns are great to visit before and after your fishing charter. The majority of our fall and early winter fishing keeps us in Grand Traverse Bay after the tourism has faded away for the season but don't be fooled the fish are still very hungry. Being based in Traverse City allows us to travel 45 minutes in any direction and be able to fish a vast amount of fresh water species. No other region in the United States offers this much angling diversity in such close proximity. Lake Michigan and Grand Traverse Bay is truly a fresh water fishing mecca.
